
The N.L. Educational Society (NLES) was established in 2002 to establish educational institutions for the weaker section of the society, Vivekananda College of law came into being as an institution affiliated to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, U.P., India, and approved by the Bar Council of India.
The objective of establishing Vivekananda College of law, (VCL) was to produce new generation of lawyers as well as budding legal luminaries by providing quality legal education through innovative, dynamic and pedagogic techniques. Its aim is to keep pace with fast changing technology marked by globalization, industrialization and privatization by providing the progressive form of deep legal study and in-depth research sharing the interactive dimensions of law, technology and host of subjects of social sciences like History, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Anthropology etc. It not only looks at law as an instrument for social change devoted to human well-being, but also it considers law as an important and effective managerial instrument for good governance. VCL is committed to provide congenial atmosphere for interdisciplinary studies in law. The college offers LL.B. three years and B.A.LL.B, five years integrated programme for law graduation. During the course of studies, the students shall be exposed to different branches of Social Sciences and law adhering to the prescribed syllabi of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra, translating into reality the recommendations of the Bar Council of India.
By adopting innovative and pedagogic techniques and the interactive teaching methods promoting the participatory role, the college is committed to insure personal attention sharing the philosophy of overall well-being and square personality development of the students.
As per the recommendation of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Agra, the students are required to write their projects/assignments on the living legal problems. The College also makes the arrangements to visit the District Courts as well as the High Court to have a glimpse of real court proceedings. The motto of our college is not only to provide bookish legal knowledge but we wish to groom our students to develop legal insight and professional excellence.
